The Origin of Training by Karina

Training by Karina was inspired by my experience as the Catering Manager at Presbyterian Ladies College. During my tenure in 2020—remember the pandemic?—we had 40 students in the boarding house who were unable to return to their home countries. Boredom quickly set in, and to keep the students entertained, I decided to teach them how to make coffee. The response was fantastic! Every day, the girls practiced their skills and experimented with latte art.

It was during this time that the idea for a training business focusing on teenagers was born. I officially launched Training by Karina in 2022, and four years later, I'm still passionate about it. I love witnessing the boost of confidence that my training provides to teenagers, and I often receive feedback that my sessions have helped them secure jobs or feel more confident in interviews.

I am a hospitality enthusiast and have been since I started working in the industry 18 years ago. As well as school trainings, I also help businesses train their staff and help set up businesses.

 
 

During my time in the industry, I have worked in management roles at Pubs, Hotels, Cafes, Catering, and Function companies. I am also a certified Trainer and Assessor of Hospitality.

My journey in the hospitality industry has led me across the globe, from cafés to fine dining establishments. Even now, I stay updated with industry trends and thrive on the excitement of a bustling service. The positive feedback I receive reinforces the satisfaction of a job well done.

I pride myself on being patient and approachable, always ready to assist in ways that benefit everyone involved.
